OSU AIChE Student Chapter Named as "Outstanding" for the 2004-2005 School Year
AIChE National Headquarters recognized
the OSU AIChE Student Chapter as "Outstanding" for the 2004-2005
school year activities. This rating only goes to the top 10% of
the student chapters in the nation, and is based on student
participation, programming activities, and contribution of the
student chapter to the school and professional development of the
students.
Our student chapter has been named
"Outstanding" for 7 years in a row, and frequently, before that.
Dr. Randy Lewis and Dr. Sundar Madiahally also received awards
for Chapter Advisor of the Year by AIChE.
The chapter is led by our students,
and has won for the past 7 years by taking an active role in
bringing Speakers from various companies to talk to students
about careers in chemical engineering. They also have fun events
such as a spring picnic, laser tag, and Fazzoil's night.
In many indirect ways
the entire department contributes to the environment that supports
this extraordinary success - student development and honor for
OSU.
