Rhinehart
Received 2006 Order of Omega Award as Outstanding Faculty Member
for the College
Members of the Order of Omega represent the academic top 3% of the
“Greek Community”, which is comprised of 31 fraternities and
sororities at OSU. Annually, they recognize one faculty member of
each of the six Stillwater colleges as making outstanding
contributions to their values of Character, Scholarship, and
Service. Dr. R. Russell Rhinehart, Bartlett Chair and chemical
engineering School Head received the 2006 award, April 5.

While a
good part of the citation represented his individual contributions
to the OSU mission, a good part also included the impressive student
successes of the School of Chemical Engineering during his 9 years
as Head.

Economics, is presenting the award to Russ Rhinehart.
“The
success of our students represents a longstanding dedication to
excellence from the School faculty, Staff, and Students.” Rhinehart
says. “It is a precious balance of effort by faculty members who are
striving for individual success in research, while remaining
dedicated to the team effort of human resource development. I
inherited that School tradition when I came to OSU, and I am as much
pleased about not hampering it, as I am having contributed to it.
But, it is the dedication of all of our faculty and staff members
and students to the values of Character, Scholarship, and Service
that this award represents.”
Two
years ago, Chemical Engineering professor “AJ” Johannes received the
Order of Omega award as the outstanding CEAT faculty member.
The OSU
fraternity community was recognized for having the highest GPA
differential over the non-Greek university GPA, in the US and
Canada, for the third year in a row! As well as providing social
activities, the OSU Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council
provide leadership training, leaders, and run many service events
that support the OSU mission.
